TRICK or TREAT

BOOOOO!!! Did I scare you? No? Well I'll have to try harder next time.
This Halloween seemed to be busier than others in the past. It started in it's normal way...the way every other day seems to start. Getting the kids outta bed, ready for school and out the door. Today was different though because Halloween for LB meant costumes and CANDY!!

The daycare LB attends is at the high school so as a treat on this Halloween, all the kids wore their costumes and went "trick or treating" at the high schools. The classrooms posted signs to let the lil ones know they were welcome to trick or treat in their classroom. I thought it was great. All the "big kids" seemed to really get a kick out of seeing the "lil kids" in their costumes. Let me tell you......those lil kids wracked up on the candy. More candy that my LB needs!! After trick or treating it was back to the daycare for some more fun. Games, play time, and PIZZA for lunch. LB had a great morning and by the end of lunch was ready to come home with mommy and retire to his bed.

Nap time ended with the arrival of BB and BD home from school and work. Now the fun really could begin. It was time to hit the street and score the BIG loot. BB decided this year to dress up as a basketball player - hey it's his costume, he can be what he wants to be. LB wanted to be a cowboy. So with basketball, cowboy hat, boots and 6 shooters we loaded up the truck and off we went.

Well you should know me well enough by now to know that I can't let the kids have all the fun....so Mom dressed up too. What do you ask was I? A witch of course. What comes more natural to me?? lol.

As night approached off we went to scope the houses and score the loot. As BB, LB and Mom went walking around the neighborhood, BD followed behind us in the comfort of his truck, keeping an ever watchful eye on us and scoping out the candy buckets whenever we'd hop back into the truck. For over an hour, we haunted the houses and scored the loot. Popcorn balls, chocolate, Dum Dum's, Pixie stix......every candy imaginable....and it was all OURS!!!!!!!

As the night grew darker, and the temperature grew colder, my little goblins and myself grew tired. We looked over our loot, decided that it was more than any person - or kid - could eat in a day, so we called it a night. Once home, Mom confiscated the candy and sorted it all out and allowed just a few pieces before bed. With the loot safely hidden away for another day, my basketball player and lil cowboy were off to bed, I'm sure dreaming about all that candy and plotting ways to eat as much as possible when Mom's not looking.
