Curve Balls

Every now and then, in this game of life, we get thrown a curve ball. Often times we don't see them coming and they smack us right in the nose. When this happens you can do one of two things.....you can stand there staring with blood running from your nose or you can just roll with the punches.

Curve balls come in many shapes and sizes and often at a point in our lives when we feel the most settled. Maybe that's fates way of waking us up.

My curve ball came this past April and like they always do - smacked me upside my head. BD (hence forth referred to as Big Dad) got offered a new job. The job was fantastic. A real move up from where he was at, doing something he really seems to love. I know you're asking yourself at this point...why is this a curve ball. Oh! did I mention yet just WHERE this new job was????? New Mexico. That's right...you read it correctly. Here I was...."x" years old (you didn't really expect me to tell you how old I was did you??) having been born in GA and lived my whole life in GA faced with having to move 1500 miles away. Away from family, friends, pretty much all I knew. Well what could I do...o.k. I'll admit, I stood there for a few second with a blank stare on my face and blood running down my nose - lol. Then I figured "hey, maybe this wont be so bad after all."

So we loaded up the truck and we moved to .........New Mexico. Wished it had been that simple. Through many fights with the moving company and worry about all our stuff making it here (in one piece) we finally made it to the "land of enchantment" and I can honestly say they named that right. It really is beautiful here. Mountains surround us on all side and the sunsets are incredible.

I still miss my family and friends but it's not so bad here after all. So just remember....when life throws a curve ball at you...even if it hits you right in the nose, and you stand there for a few seconds blank faced with blood running down your nose...shake it off, wipe your nose and just roll with the punches.
